Normally I am all about scales and weighing ingredients, merely this recipe works very well with cups and spoons. Yous can see why of course, it doesn't accept to be measured exactly and there is much room for creativity. This wholesome recipe is my adaptation of a recipe that was handed to me after a visit to a welcoming guest firm on Vancouver Isle, many years ago. Recipe for Maple Toasted Muesli

5 cups oat flakes

1 cup shredded kokosnoot

ane cup wheat germ

i/2 cup bran

ane/2 cup (chopped) almonds

1 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts

1/2 loving cup sunflower and pumpkin seeds

v tbsp sesame seeds

3 tsp grated orangish peel (optional)

1 tsp vanilla excerpt (optional)

1/two tsp table salt

6 tsp vegetable oil (optional, can as well try less or without)

ane/ 2cup maple syrup

subsequently Muesli has cooled add:

one cup raisins (sultanas and bluish jumbo)

ane cup stale cranberries

1 cup chopped stale apricots, cherries or other stale fruit

Making the Maple Toasted Muesli
Place all the dry out ingredients in a bowl and stir. Combine the oil, maple syrup, salt, orange zest and vanilla (Information technology's besides very good without vanilla and orange, meet what you similar best) and stir then everything is combined. Spread the muesli on a baking canvas lined with parchment newspaper. Toast at 140ºC / 285ºF for 30 to xl minutes. Stir every 10 minutes, making sure everything is evenly toasted. Leave to cool completely in a bowl and so add the dried fruit and shop in an closed container.
